About Us

Mount Airy has always been known as a caring community. It’s one of the reasons we are all so proud to live here and be a part of this wonderful town. Quite simply, we care about the quality of life in our community and that has always supported a response and outreach by our citizens and organizations.

The Mount Airy Disaster Relief Fund was established in 2006 in response to the town house fire in the Twin Arch Crossing community that displaced 5 families at Christmastime. The fund was then known as the Family Fire Fund and contributions from residents, businesses and other organizations were used to assist those families to get back on their feet.

From this experience, we wanted to be prepared to help other local families when the next disaster occurred. The Mount Airy Disaster Relief Fund was officially established and individual residents and various groups across the community pledged and contributed. We built up an account in readiness for future emergencies, and began to use those funds on an as-needed basis.

Our goal is to be ready to assist families in the Mount Airy area - quickly.

We've helped several families affected by fires, medical emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances. We're continually depleting the monies collected in the Mount Airy Disaster Relief Fund, and it’s only of matter of time until another family needs assistance. We need your help and contributions so we can be ready when the time comes.

God bless you, and our entire community and local families thank you.

The Mount Airy Disaster Relief Fund is a registered 501(3)(c) organization.
